What is RideMC?

RideMC is a Zwift alternative that takes place inside Minecraft.

What do I need?

You'll need a compatible smart trainer, a copy of Minecraft Java Edition, and the RideMC app.

How do I start?

We're currently in closed Beta. You can apply to join!

Do I need to know how to play Minecraft?

No! Once you're riding the only thing that matters is your cycling.

When you first join the RideMC server you'll have to walk around in the game to find a suitable ride, but no knowledge of Minecraft is assumed or required.

Can I join using Minecraft Bedrock Edition?

No. The server uses Minecraft Java Edition.

Do I need a modified version of Minecraft?

No. You can join the server with a regular unmodified Minecraft client. The RideMC app connects to your smart trainer and communicates directly with the RideMC server.

Why Minecraft?

Because it's fun! The fun part about indoor cycling using something like Zwift or RideMC is the virtual world you can explore as you go. Minecraft is a perfect stage for this virtual world both because the landscapes it generates are varied and interesting, and because of the possibility for community contributions of virtual maps.

How does it compare to Zwift?

We love Zwift. It's the #1 indoor cycling app for a reason. RideMC has many similarities with Zwift but the main difference is that RideMC is trying to be a fun game. We're trying to emphasize achievements and other gameplay elements over realism.
